Youth O'Clock and Federal College of Horticulture Forge Historic Partnership to Green Gombe and Boost Food Security

Gombe, Nigeria - In a groundbreaking move to promote environmental sustainability and food security, Youth O'Clock Gombe has entered into a strategic partnership with the Federal College of Horticulture, Dadin-Kowa. The partnership was formalized during a courtesy visit to the college's Dadin-Kowa campus, where both parties pledged to work together towards achieving a greener and more food-secure Gombe State.

The Acting Provost of the College, Dr. Umar A. Umar, represented by Deputy Provost Dr. Ibrahim Isiyaka, expressed the institution's enthusiasm for the partnership, citing the potential for collaborative research, student exchange programs, and community outreach initiatives. He lauded Youth O'Clock Gombe for its unwavering commitment to promoting unity, peace, and environmental conservation across the state.

Dr. Umar highlighted the College's strengths in vocational and agricultural education, emphasizing its capacity to empower youths with skills for sustainable livelihoods. He urged Youth O'Clock Gombe to sensitize young people about the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), a Federal Government initiative designed to support students pursuing higher education.

In his remarks, the State Coordinator of Youth O'Clock Gombe, Comrade Abdulazeez Sani Labaran, outlined the organization's objectives and past achievements, reaffirming its commitment to supporting the College in attracting students and strengthening community outreach. He stated that the visit aimed to congratulate the newly appointed Acting Provost and explore areas of partnership under the institution's Community Service framework.

As a symbol of their commitment to environmental sustainability, Youth O'Clock Gombe donated 100 economic tree seedlings to the College, aimed at enhancing its green landscape and promoting environmental beautification. The organization also submitted a congratulatory letter and a proposal outlining areas of collaboration, expressing optimism that the partnership would yield tangible benefits for both parties.
